Packet Pick Up/Race Details – GMDR Siesta Key Beach

Hello Great Mother’s Day Race Participants,

We’re looking forward to the 5k race this weekend, and we hope you are too! This post is meant to give you information for race day preparation. We want to make sure everything goes as smooth as possible for you!

Packet pick-up/Registration: (Includes shirt, race bib, and other goodies)

Choose one

Saturday 5/02 (We would strongly recommend this option, as it will be more convenient and quicker for you on race day!)

• Location: Fit2Run (shoe store) at 1400 Main St. Sarasota, FL 34236 (Downtown Location)
• Time: 10a – 2p

OR

Sunday (Race Day)

• Time: 7 a
• Location: Siesta Key Beach 948 Beach Rd. Sarasota , FL 34242 at the Gazebo
• Race Details:
  • Day: Sunday, May 3
  • Location: Siesta Key Beach 948 Beach Rd. Sarasota , FL 34242 at the Gazebo (Map attached)
  • Packet pick-up/Registration: 7 a
  • Race Start: 8 a

Chip Timing:

• We’ll have chip timing—the chip will attach to your shoe with a tie. We will hand the chip out before the race. Don’t worry; we’ll have volunteers there to show you how it’s done!
• Note, right after you finish the race, a volunteer will cut the tie and remove the chip from your shoe. The chip is a rental and belongs to a Racing company. Please do not keep the chip.

Race Map (Attached):

• Registration/drinks/snacks/pictures will be at the Gazebo. About 10 minutes before the race, we’ll walk out to the beach, near the Red dot 1 on the map. The start will be set up there.
• Parking: Park by the Gazebo (Map attached)
• Course: This is a simple 1.55 mile run South on the beach, and then a turn around point. Water will be provided at the turn around point.
